The Warmest Christmas Ever
Happy Holidays! We’re still alive and breathing here in Kenya. It sure doesn’t feel like the holidays simply because instead of the 2 feet of snow you all got at home (so jealous), it’s just sun sun sun, and man are we getting tan! (I’m sure all of the women reading this right now are very jealous. Haha.)
Things are still the same here. We’re still staying in Ngoliba, although we’ve been in Thika (a much bigger town close by) the last two nights. Devon taught Sunday morning here and he did very well! God is good. We’ve been enjoying the kids, exploring Ngoliba (beautiful area), and just continuing in our relationship building. Devon and I have been doing our best to pray together every day, and that has been sustaining us in our friendship as well as the ministry we’ve been doing.
One thing we request are your prayers as we continue to plan our next steps for after Kenya. We plan on going back to Uganda sometime in January and hope to return to Mbarara, where we worked with the ex-street kids I mentioned in a previous post. After that, we’re not exactly sure. Our only set date is for Mozambique on March 17. We could stay in Uganda up until that time, or possibly jump on an opportunity to go Zambia. As of right now we’re just not sure what to do. Keep our decision making process in your prayers! We desire to God’s will, and we know He will be faithful in leading us down the right path.
I put up some more new pictures on facebook (facebook.com/negreiner, under “Around the World” photo album). Check them out if you have time!
Devon and I are continuing to grow and discover the heart of the Father. My prayer is that we continue to become different people, and that we let God do all the work as we keep our eyes focused on Him. I really wish I had internet more often because I’ve been getting so many “tidbits” from the Holy Spirit every day and I desire to post them so you all can share in my little revelations, but it hasn’t been working out that way. Hopefully I’ll have more opportunities as we continue this journey of ours.
We both miss home very, very much, especially because of the holidays right now. May God give all of you a special Christmas and a blessed new years celebration. Here comes 2010!
Love, peace, and blessings. I’ll be back soon, so stay updated.
